Holiday Brunch Inspiration – Mood and Food
Holiday Brunch Inspiration involves as much about the Atmosphere as it does the Cuisine, and let’s not neglect the beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic!
HOLIDAY INSPIRATION
The time frame from November to January offers us the most intense atmosphere for festivity than any other period throughout the year. So let’s rejoice!
Having just emerged from a holiday season that was uncelebrated by anyone when the pandemic first struck, we have every justification to celebrate properly this year.
BRUNCH
Let’s arrange a gathering with our closest friends, those individuals who have consistently supported us during challenging times.
Those companions or family who provide comfort, amusement, perhaps a little chit-chat, and abundant ‘feel-good’ memories.
Especially now, more than ever, we need to set a ‘mood’ to serve some enjoyable holiday dishes.
Let’s host a Holiday Brunch!
EASY HOLIDAY BRUNCH MENU
A simple brunch menu filled with delightful seasonal flavors is precisely what we need at this moment.
I have already undertaken much of the effort for you. I crafted and arranged this entire menu, from a holiday cocktail to a playful holiday dessert.
I’ve trialed it (so delicious), resolved any issues so that even a beginner cook will find this simple to execute, and yet when you sit down for this brunch, you will feel as though you are dining at the finest establishment.
So, do bring out your special dishes and tableware and go all out. If you cannot be with some of those friends you wish to have at your brunch, do it virtually and have them prepare this same menu!
SPECIAL HOLIDAY BRUNCH SELECTIONS
This menu has worked wonderfully for a Thanksgiving weekend with family, Christmas morning, and is ideal for New Year’s morning after a lengthy New Year’s Eve.
Modify the presentation to best suit your celebration, simply by adapting the decorations.
For example, for a Hanukkah event, instead of Christmas, simply incorporate menorah candles to create chocolate as I did with the reindeer antlers! Adjust!
- Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cocktail – Peppermint Hot Chocolate Festive Cocktail, featuring mint-infused spirits (or muddled mint for non-alcoholic), and homemade rich hot chocolate, using your milk preference.
- Black Walnut Date Brunch Bread – a cherished holiday recipe with exotic spices, ancient dates, and American Black Walnuts for a flavor twist.
- Poached Eggs Over Potato Latkes – A perfectly cooked poached egg atop crispy Potato Latkes with a sliver of smoked salmon creates the Best Brunch for all occasions!
- Chocolate Reindeer Cheesecake – featuring chocolate antlers and Rudolph’s nose (cranberry topping), this is the most delectable cheesecake of the holiday season, adding a touch of whimsy.
Hot and Spirited Holiday Brunch Cocktail Inspiration
Many of us experience chilly weather this season, making a steaming hot chocolate drink infused with peppermint vodka ideal.
Of course, perfectly swirled with a candy cane, this is precisely the cocktail we require to kick off this brunch.
If, where you reside during this holiday period is warm (which I experienced during 3 Christmas seasons in Brazil = HOT!), this drink served ice-cold will also be fabulous.
So don’t assume I excluded y’all hotties!
Alcohol-free? No issue! Just add a dash of quality mint extract instead of the peppermint spirit.
Actually, it is truly

all that transformed into that beverage anyway once purified into ethanol.
Festive Sweet Brunch Bread Inspiration
I can enumerate countless motives for why we require a festive breakfast bread for brunch, beginning with ‘Just Because’!
In fact, this bread contains more beneficial nutrients than any other bread you will consume throughout your day.
Dates, for instance, are packed with fiber, antioxidants, and assist in enhancing our digestive system, and goodness, are they sweet!
Incorporate oat flour and nut flour into the yeast dough, and you’ve created a wholesome, deliciously textured bread mixture.
Indeed, this is a yeast bread, but don’t let that intimidate you. Engaging with yeast dough isn’t much different than molding with Play Doh. You’ll discover!
Poached Eggs Over Potato Latkes With Smoked Salmon Brunch
Festive brunch has never felt more celebratory than with this incredible and remarkably simple recipe.
Latkes, Rosti, Hash browns are merely large potato pancakes. Pancake, you inquire? No, not in the sense of egg and flour pancakes.
These marvelous additions to brunch are nothing less than ‘homemade’ delightful!
This delicious potato recipe consists of three ingredients; grated potato, salt, and butter for cooking. Certainly, you can add more ingredients, but you won’t really need to.
Smoked salmon pairs perfectly with the crispy potato and sumptuous gooey poached egg.
Speaking of which, do you know how to prepare a Perfectly Poached Egg? Oh my! For ages I have dreaded messing up this style of cooked egg.
Sure, I’ve possessed various types of egg poaching pans, but one day my professional chef son demonstrated how it’s done in a restaurant. Game Changer!
This technique gives the eggs a whimsically cloud-like appearance, and in merely 3 minutes, they cook to perfection, easy to lift out and settle gracefully on a plate until you’re ready to arrange this dish.
Reindeer Rudolph’s Festive Cranberry Cheese Cake Brunch
You know Santa is renowned for his fondness for cookies? Well, this year, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is savoring his first and most delightful holiday dessert indulgence as well. Enjoy, Santa!
This simple yet enjoyable dessert is designed to appear as if Rudolph had a crash landing in a snowbank, losing one or two antlers, with images of his bright shining red nose replicated by the cranberries. It’s fun, relatively healthy, and tasty!
I prefer crafting these in small individual portions. My inexpensive yet clever trick is to invert the lid on a Ball Mason Jar lid and use that as the baking tart pan.
It’s the ideal size and significantly cheaper than sophisticated tart pans, although you can also use a porcelain tart pan and present this holiday dessert in it, since they look elegant. It’s your choice.
As for the whimsical antlers? I sketched an antler. No, I can’t draw, so I discovered one online on my phone, placed a piece of paper over my phone, and traced it!
Perfect! I used the sketch to create plenty of antlers from melted chocolate.
The remaining steps are simple to execute while the antlers cool in the refrigerator.
A crust of gingersnaps, a cheesecake made with mascarpone, and a quick cranberry compote resembling Rudolph’s Red Nose!
HOLIDAY BRUNCH INSPIRATION
While brunch, for me, has never revolved around the feasting, but rather a reason to cultivate a mood for a gathering;
We still aspire to impress our visitors with all the atmosphere and delightful cuisine!
Ignite a flame, or position numerous votive candles. Create a playful centerpiece. Prepare the environment and then start cooking in the kitchen.
Oh… and remember to don something spectacular as well. After all, you contribute to the atmosphere and the purpose of the gathering!
SEASON’S GREETINGS TO EVERYONE!
