Thai Peanut Dressing
This peanut dressing resembles peanut sauce, albeit in a salad dressing version. It’s rich, intense, and nutty. It makes an impression! This dressing pairs fantastically with Thai elements such as bell pepper, carrots, cabbage, mango, and beyond—you’ll find a list of recommendations below.
This salad dressing can be easily whisked together with simple ingredients. I bet you already possess them in your pantry. You’ll require creamy peanut butter (the smoother, the better), lime juice, tamari or soy sauce, maple syrup or honey, fresh garlic, and red pepper flakes (if you desire some heat). That’s all!

Peanut Dressing
This delectable peanut dressing complements Thai flavors superbly. It’s so rich and flavorful that a small amount suffices. Recipe yields a little less than ⅔ cup—double if necessary.
- To create the dressing, mix the peanut butter, tamari, maple syrup, garlic, and optional red pepper flakes (excluding the lime juice) in a liquid measuring cup or small bowl. Use a small whisk or fork to combine until smooth.
- Incorporate about half of the lime juice until creamy, then whisk in the remainder. Keep whisking until the mixture is entirely blended and delightfully creamy.
- Taste it, and if it’s too tangy, add an additional teaspoon or so of maple syrup. Serve as preferred. Any leftover dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
Peanut butter note: Opt for ultra creamy peanut butter for the most decadent texture. Some natural peanut butters could be gritty, depending on the brand. My homemade peanut butter is so smooth that it would be perfect.
Make it vegan: Use maple syrup instead of honey.
Make it gluten-free: Utilize certified gluten-free tamari, not soy sauce, which contains wheat.
