Philadelphia Pasta
How to Prepare Philadelphia Pasta – Step-by-Step Guidelines
Comprehensive, easy-to-understand guidelines and measurements can be found in the recipe card at the end of this article.
First Step
Boil the pasta according to the package directions, aiming for an al-dente consistency.
Second Step
Rinse with cold water and set aside. This helps prevent sticking while it awaits use.
Third Step
Warm the oil in a large, non-stick flame-safe skillet or pan over medium heat on the stove.
Fourth Step
Introduce the onions and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Fifth Step
Incorporate the bacon and sauté for another 5 minutes until it is browned, stirring regularly. It will crumble as it cooks.
Sixth Step
Mix in the garlic, zucchini, and peas.
Seventh Step
Add the cream cheese. Mix thoroughly.
Eighth Step
Pour in the stock, using only the amount required for a sauce. The quantity you need will depend on how much moisture is released from your other ingredients, so add it gradually.
You may substitute pasta water for stock; just ensure you incorporate a bit of liquid into your cream cheese mixture.
Ninth Step
Allow to reach a gentle simmer.
Tenth Step
Add the spinach and stir until it is wilted. This part is delightful!
Eleventh Step
Combine the cornflour with a splash of water and add it to the sauce. Mix well.
If the sauce is already at your desired thickness, feel free to skip this step.
Twelfth Step
Simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce has become thicker.
Thirteenth Step
Season with black pepper according to your preference.
Fourteenth Step
Fold in the cooked pasta and let it heat through if it’s cold.
Fifteenth Step
Serve topped with parmesan and additional black pepper to taste.
