Hey everyone. Your morning meal is about to become ten times more amazing.
The reason is this incredibly tasty jar of crunchy apple overnight oats that’s soon to be your go-to breakfast. What’s even better: this recipe serves as the ultimate demonstration that a nutritious breakfast requires no effort whatsoever. Are you as thrilled as I am?All you have to do is acquire all of the ingredients, though I bet that most of you already possess them in your pantry. Then you’ll open the jar, mix all of the components inside it, seal the jar, and store it in the fridge overnight. I’ll summarize this in bullet points for easier recollection ;-).
- Dice the apples into small chunks.
- Combine all of the components in a jar.
- Refrigerate that jar.
- Savor it in the morning with joy.
I don’t believe anyone can contest that having a healthy breakfast in the morning is time-intensive or pricey. Naturally, there are a few tricks that can elevate your overnight oats. To start, I am quite fond of adding apples to my overnight oats. Especially tart and sweet varieties like Honeycrunch. They impart a natural sweetness and zest to the oats. Moreover, they are packed with vitamin C and the fiber pectin, which help keep us feeling full for longer. This means you won’t find yourself yearning for that mid-morning snack. Honeycrunch apples certainly give your morning a boost with this recipe, and they maintain their crunch even after soaking overnight with the oats and oat milk.
Another overnight oat tip is cardamom. I realize that not everyone is particularly enthusiastic about cardamom. I believe it belongs in overnight oats, but you might want to begin with a pinch and gradually increase as you acclimatize to the flavor.
Recently, I also prefer to prepare my overnight oats with oat milk, since it’s a naturally sweet, plant-based beverage that typically doesn’t need any extra sweetening. So if you’re currently cutting out sugar (not the sugar from fruit), you can still enjoy this delightful breakfast.
