Air Fryer Halloumi Fries
How to Air Cook Crispy Halloumi Fries – Step-by-Step Guidance
Comprehensive, easy-to-follow guidelines and measurements can be found in the recipe card located at the end of this post.
Step One
Grease the tray of your air fryer basket with oil. Utilize a spray bottle if available.
Honestly, I don’t always do this; nothing typically adheres to my air fryer.
Step Two
Pour the flour into one bowl, the egg into another, and the breadcrumbs into yet another. I prefer using cereal-sized bowls. The halloumi strips are small, so wider bowls aren’t necessary.
Step Three
Coat each stick individually, beginning with the flour. Ensure each side is properly covered and eliminate any excess by gently tapping the halloumi against the bowl’s edge.
Halloumi is drier than chicken, so some time might be needed to ensure the flour adheres, but only a very thin coating is required. If there’s an excess of flour, you’ll have difficulty getting the egg and subsequently the breadcrumbs to stick, potentially resulting in some exposed halloumi.
Step Four
Then, immerse in the egg, ensuring to coat each side again. You may need to rotate it a few times if there’s an abundance of flour.
Step Five
Lastly, dip in the breadcrumbs, coat all sides, and press down if any sections aren’t adhering.
Step Six
Arrange in the air fryer basket on the crisper tray.
Step Seven
Continue until all the strips are placed in the tray.
Step Eight
Air cook at 200 degrees C for 8 minutes, gently flipping after 4.
Step Nine
Carefully take out and serve immediately.
