Crispy Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp Recipe
How to Prepare Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp (step-by-step instructions)
STEP 1. Begin by warming up your air fryer to 400°F so it’s prepared when needed. While it preheats, pat your shrimp dry with paper towels. Blend the cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until all ingredients are uniformly mixed. (Photo 1)
STEP 2. Incorporate the dried shrimp into this mixture and gently toss them until each piece is lightly covered, then eliminate any surplus breading. (Photos 2 & 3)
STEP 3. Mist your air fryer basket with oil and position the shrimp in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overlapping. Lightly spray the tops with oil as well. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then turn each shrimp and spray again before continuing to cook for another 4-5 minutes until they’re a golden hue and opaque throughout. (Photos 4 & 5)
STEP 4. While the shrimp are cooking, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar until the sauce reaches a smooth and shiny consistency. (Photo 6)
STEP 5. When the shrimp are finished, you can either gently toss them in the sauce or drizzle it atop if you prefer to maintain maximum crunch. (Photos 7 & 8)
