Cooking With Kids Is Unmatched!

Pizza Party On A Stick

If pizza and a party platter had an offspring, this would be its creation. Pizza Kabobs are everything we adore about pizza: vibrant flavors, gooey goodness, and limitless customization, all presented in a fun, portable manner. Skewered on sticks, these kabobs transform traditional pizza evenings into an engaging, crowd-pleasing event that seems just a bit enchanting.

Succulent meatballs (or plant-based versions!), petite baked pizza dough rounds, and each of your preferred pizza toppings unite in vivid layers that are as amusing to assemble as they are to consume. They’re ideal for celebrations, game nights, family meals, or whenever you wish to energize and amplify the festive spirit of food. No slices to balance, no chaos, just pizza taste on a stick.

This dish celebrates innovation, adaptability, and enjoyment. Combine various ingredients, accommodate different dietary needs, and allow everyone to create their ideal pizza…kabob-style.

Pizza Kabobs

What?? Pizza Kabobs? Indeed! Consider this: deconstructing your ideal pizza choices, placing them on a ‘to-go’ stick, and voila, you have the ultimate food experience for a laid-back gathering, whether indoors or outdoors.

Who doesn’t appreciate pizzas and the many variations we can create? There’s something for everyone, regardless of whether you’re particular about toppings or dough.

With a Mediterranean heritage, kabobs have always been familiar to me.

We’ve always placed a variety of appetizing meats, seafood, or veggies on sticks, grilled them, or put them in a hot oven to relish a relaxed approach to excellent meals.

Kabobs Are Just A Staple In My Home

Kabobs and More Kabobs!

When my children (now adults) were young, I discovered that the simplest method to present delightful, nutritious, inventive meals without any hassle or discontent was on a stick.

Fruit salad on a stick, sandwiches on a stick, deconstructed, of course.

Occasionally, leftovers on a stick made perfect sense when I was preparing lunches for school.

I appreciated how festive they appeared, and realized they consumed items on that stick that they might typically avoid on a plate.

So… why not a Pizza Kabob, but create them in 2 styles!

Is A Pizza Platter Feasible For A Party?

A pizza platter is certainly feasible for a celebration if we place that pizza on sticks! For example, any of my preferred pizzas:

Each of these pizzas can be disassembled, placing the components, along with small pieces of pre-baked dough, on kabob sticks – wood or reusable metal, and served on party platters, either warm or at room temperature.

Why A Pizza 2-Ways?

Now that my children are grown and have their own dietary preferences, a gathering at my home often involves considerable adjustments to my recipes to accommodate their unique needs:

  • Gluten-free – an easy-to-make gluten-free dough can be shaped into bite-sized pieces and baked to serve as the pizza dough on sticks. Alternatively, store-bought gluten-free wraps can be cut with biscuit cutters, warmed, and placed on the pizza kabob sticks in place of traditional pizza dough.
  • Dairy-free – with such a variety of

vegan cheeses that are currently on the market, lactose-sensitive individuals can also savor cheese on their pizza kabob as well.

  • Plant-Based – with a homemade pizza base, dairy-free cheese, and a selection of roasted vegetables on skewers, these are guaranteed to please.

I discovered it was straightforward to modify the idea of a pizza, along with all its diverse elements, place them on a stick, and ensure everyone’s satisfaction.

Not only do pizza kabobs shine on a party tray, but they are also fantastic for transporting to picnics and take-out lunches.

Pizza Kabobs Featuring Meatballs

My Pizza Kabobs include both Meatballs and Plant-Based Meatballs. Homemade Pizza base along with gluten-free options.

Numerous vegetables are incorporated into both the meatballs and plant-based meatballs, because that’s how this health-conscious grandma operates!

Homemade meatballs, at least my Grandma’s Sneaky Meatballs, contain pureed vegetables mixed into the ground meat, making them already packed with concealed veggies.

How about a Plant-Based Meatball on a skewer or atop a pizza, crafted from French lentils, quinoa, or oats with an abundance of herbs and spices!

Additional Pizza Kabob Choices

Dairy cheese and non-dairy varieties. Tomatoes or mini peppers arranged on a skewer, stacked high on a platter that looks festive. Everyone is delighted, and it’s a breeze for me.

For the gluten-free dough, if I haven’t had the chance to prepare it beforehand, I find that tortilla wraps cut with a round cookie cutter work wonderfully.

On this occasion, I utilized a cassava and coconut wrap, though many other options are available in stores today.

Homemade Base or gluten-free tortillas flattened into small rounds create the ideal pizza base for the pizza kabobs.

Bake the rounds just as you would a pizza base, brushed lightly with olive oil and a dusting of grated cheese, or gently toast the tortilla rounds, prepared just as you would the bread.

Party Platter Pizza Kabobs for Various Diets

This platter was designed for a Super Bowl Sunday, but I’ve frequently recreated it for patio gatherings, picnics, even tucked into a to-go lunch container.

Feel free to include your own favorites on these sticks, but ensure you dedicate special time and effort to making the meatballs taste exceptional (meat or plant-based)!

Next, decide what cheeses you prefer, mini-tomatoes, peppers, herbs, or any other toppings you enjoy on a pizza.

Assemble everything onto the skewers and place them in a 350-degree oven for just 5 minutes, then serve!

Ingredients for These Enjoyable Pizza Kabobs

  • Mini Meatballs – Bite-sized and perfectly suited for skewers, mini meatballs bring that traditional, savory pizza taste everyone anticipates. Use homemade, store-bought, or even plant-based meatballs, this recipe is incredibly adaptable.
  • Mini Cheese Balls – Because pizza without gooey cheese is just a disappointing bread situation.
Sure! Here’s the modified text while preserving the HTML structure:

These petite cheese spheres introduce a creamy indulgence and that compelling “cheese pull” experience when heated.

  • Cherry Tomatoes – Flavorful, succulent, and colorful, cherry tomatoes contribute freshness and a burst of hue that offsets the richness of the meatballs and cheese.
  • Pizza Dough (Homemade or Purchased, or even grain-free wraps) – The basis of it all. Formed into small circles and baked, these tiny dough discs transform into the “crust” on the kebab, providing genuine pizza sensations in every skewer.
  • Spinach Leaves – Delicate, tender spinach infuses a fresh, verdant layer that fits perfectly between components and hints at balance (while adding some nutritious benefit, too).
  • Fresh Herb Leaves (Such as Basil) – Aromatic and tasty, fresh herbs enhance these kebabs from amusing to elegant. Basil, in particular, delivers that unmistakable pizza scent.
  • Flour – A mere dusting is all you require to roll and press the dough without adhering, rendering the shaping of those mini pizza rounds easy and effortless.
  • Grated Cheese – Sprinkled atop the dough rounds or gently melted onto the kebabs, grated cheese unites all components with that familiar, comforting pizza essence.
  • Olive Oil – A splash of olive oil imparts richness, assists everything in baking beautifully, and adds that unmistakable Mediterranean essence to the dish.
