Peppermint Hot Chocolate Festive Cocktail
Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cocktail, featuring mint-infused spirits (or crushed mint), and homemade authentic hot chocolate, utilizing milk of your preference. A merry fireside drink.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cocktail
There’s something enchanting about peppermint and chocolate that encapsulates the festive season in a cup, soothing, nostalgic, and somewhat twinkly.
This Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cocktail is my preferred December treat, indulgent, silky cocoa infused with a refreshing mint note and a cheerful splash of holiday spirit. It’s the kind of beverage you’d enjoy while watching the tree lights shimmer or swapping tales with friends by the hearth.
And the most delightful aspect? It’s just as enjoyable as a non-alcoholic version. Omit the spirits and you still have a luxurious, adult hot chocolate that feels every bit as snug and festive. Whether you add a splash of spirits or keep it suitable for the family, this is the cup that brings everyone together, warms hands, and creates the ideal holiday atmosphere.
Chilly Weather Cocktails
Many of us find ourselves in a chilly locale this season, and are craving a hot chocolate beverage.
How about one that’s been enhanced with peppermint vodka, expertly mixed with a candy cane? That is precisely the cocktail we require to kickstart this brunch!
If your location during this festive season is warm, this beverage served icy cold would also be fabulous. So don’t think I forgot about you, warm-weather fans!
Hot Cocktail For Chilly Winter
What’s not to adore about a bit of indulgence every now and then! While I am typically a wine enthusiast, I do appreciate the occasional special sip that creates a celebratory atmosphere.
Warm-weather beverages are generally crafted to cool and refresh, thus include ice. This enhanced cold-weather drink is going to be served hot, chocolatey, and infused with a hint of peppermint vodka.
Certainly, if you enjoy this hot cocktail sip, you’re bound to embrace another homemade hot cocktail I call Golden Milk Turmeric Cocktail. How’s that for a delightful way to enjoy that healthy turmeric!
Hot Chocolate With Peppermint Vodka
When I reached the age of enjoying cocktails, a peppermint beverage was typically crafted with peppermint Schnapps.
I found the minty taste invigorating, yet the alcohol seemed overly sugary, almost syrup-like.
When peppermint vodka emerged, I had to give it a try. It delivered all the mint flavor I desired without the excessive sweetness.
Vodka, that is already flavored with peppermint, was going to be the perfect spirit for my hot chocolate cocktail.
Similarly, for peppermint hot chocolate without the alcohol, just mash mint leaves with simple syrup and you have a fantastic non-alcoholic version!
AUTHENTIC Hot Chocolate For A Festive Hot Cocktail
Come on… who doesn’t appreciate a bit of Authentic Homemade Hot Chocolate when the weather turns chilly!
From childhood, hot chocolate was treated as a special occasion drink for me and my siblings.
As a child, hot chocolate was consistently made with cocoa powder, a touch of sugar, and milk.
It was heated on the stove until the milk was warm, the sugar dissolved, and the cocoa combined. Delicious.
The New Faces Of Milk
In my later years, milk adopted a fresh identity. Almond milk, coconut milk, even oat milk and a completely new variety of milks.
A warm cup of your preferred milk, combined with chocolate, is simply an exquisite beverage, don’t you think?
Milk In My Hot Chocolate?
No more digestive issues now! Plant-based milk, particularly Homemade Plant Milk, like:
- Almond milk – has existed for quite some time, before it became available in supermarkets, and originates largely from Middle Eastern almonds.
- Oat milk is crafted by blending oats with water. It carries a comforting grainy taste characteristic of oats.
- Walnut milk, or any nut transformed into a milk, resembles almond milk, introducing a spectrum of flavors derived from the nuts utilized.
- Sesame seed or hemp seed milk are both produced by crushing the seeds and then soaking them in water to extract their oils and essence.
Savoring a drink made with plant milk, I must confess, is even more enjoyable than dairy milk, and I truly appreciate dairy milk.
Creating homemade plant milk is straightforward, costs significantly less than store-bought varieties, and lacks the preservatives necessary to prevent it from spoiling on the shelf, even when refrigerated.
Peppermint In My Hot Chocolate Cocktail Or Mocktail
This festive drink doesn’t need to be spiked to retain that delightful mint chocolate flavor when sipped warm.
Fresh peppermint is available in most grocery stores throughout the year. Dried peppermint can also be conveniently found in mint tea bags, containing only dried mint leaves.
Peppermint thrives easily in a designated space in the garden or within a pot, and once established, it’s nearly impossible to kill.
If you wish to cultivate or purchase fresh peppermint and dry it for later use, simply bind a bundle and hang it upside down. It will dry within about a week.
Mocktail Peppermint Hot Chocolate
The simplest and most organic method to flavor a mint hot chocolate beverage is to simmer the dried or fresh mint leaves in milk with cocoa, strain, and serve.
An ideal drink for children or non-alcohol consumers to enjoy the same fancy fireside treat as those enjoying peppermint vodka.
Peppermint and Chocolate Create A Festive Candy Too!
There’s something joyously childlike about crafting homemade chocolate peppermint bark.
Perhaps it’s the way crushed candy canes scatter across the kitchen counter like confetti. Maybe it’s the enchanting swirl of dark chocolate intermingling with ribbons of red and white, reminiscent of scarves tossed in winter breezes.
Regardless of why we adore chocolate peppermint bark, we are sure to relish it in a warm sip as well.
Don’t Forget The Peppermint Candy Cane In Your Cocktail!
It’s the winter festive season. What child or adult does not delight in a candy cane, particularly when it’s peppermint flavored?
A candy cane is essentially sugar and water, boiled into a hard candy to shape. Flavorings can consist of various extracts.
We all enjoy a little stir stick in our hot chocolate, so ensure to provide each festive peppermint hot chocolate cup with a candy cane to enhance the celebratory atmosphere!
Ingredients Required
- Cocoa – The essence of the beverage, rich, deep, and comforting. Quality cocoa powder, ideally a pure Cacao powder, provides the drink with its luxurious chocolate foundation, transforming each sip into a warm embrace.
- Sugar – A hint of sweetness that balances the natural bitterness of the cocoa. It dissolves evenly into the blend, creating that classic hot-chocolate creaminess we yearn for during this season.
- Water – Just a dash is all you require to merge the cocoa and sugar. Heating them with water initially creates a shiny, chocolaty foundation that establishes the ambiance for the entire beverage.
- Milk (your preference) – Whether it be dairy, oat, almond, soy, or cashew, the milk contributes richness and substance. Opt for the one that seems most extravagant to you; this drink embraces them all.
- Peppermint Vodka or Mint Leaves – Peppermint vodka introduces a cool, vibrant lift that swiftly turns hot chocolate into a festive cocktail. For a more natural approach, fresh mint leaves delicately infused in the warm milk provide that same invigorating note with a gentler finish.
- Whipped Cream (dairy or non-dairy) – A light, festive garnish that dissolves beautifully into the cocoa. It imparts luxury effortlessly, transforming the drink into something that feels extraordinary.
- Chocolate Squares – A few chunks of authentic chocolate melted into the base provide depth and richness. They assist in achieving a smooth texture that makes the drink feel lavish and worthy of a café.
- Candy Cane – The final touch, sweet, minty, and reminiscent of childhood. Use it for stirring, crumbling on top, or simply as a holiday embellishment. It’s a minor detail that brings substantial festive joy.

- Saucepan – Your primary instrument for warming the cocoa, milk, and melted chocolate together. A medium saucepan provides ample space for everything to flourish, simmer, and become silky.

- Measuring Cup and Measuring Spoons – For achieving the cocoa, sugar, milk, and peppermint flavors just right. A bit of accuracy guarantees a perfectly balanced sip each time.
